The (looks like) oak burl turning into a well-crafted sculpture of some saintly woman under the bell jar is so creepy I believe it would have limped my dick when I was 14, There's something going on in her posture and the cast of her eyes which makes me think that even I, even then, would have paused in -- well, acknowledgment.

bell jars seem so magical, capturing the contents in an aparent vacume, a frozen specimen. this one really struck me as well...it was in the window of a little store in ballard near the tractor tavern. every time i am over there, they have something else eye catching in those windows....someday i will need to actually get there when they are open and see what other mysteries the shop contains.
