Wish I Could Tell You

A song based on my thoughts after dealing with a friend experiencing way too many disasters resulting from the poor relationship and business choices she made. This specific situation warranted a get-out-of-town-ASAP course of action on her part; I was simply visiting her town, so my escape involved just turning around and grabbing the next plane out of there.

It was a song quite a few people liked, back when we were just starting to play out. For some reason that involved way too much alcohol I allowed Todd to convince me to play it as an unanticipated encore at my sister's wedding. It really wasn't until we were at the end of the first verse - and got the clue from the look of horror on my mother's face - that I realized everyone was REALLY listening to those lyrics (I play in bars - I'm always assuming most people are drinking and talking and don't give a damn), so for the rest of the song I just made happy words up as we went along. The fact that my sister and I never got along until very recently didn't help matters. David Fisher had come along and was practically howling as the song devolved. I can laugh about it now...heh.
