Got this wild notion the other night, while intoxicated, that carving a pumpkin might be fun. I've never done this, so I had no idea the horror that welcomed me when I took up the knife and promptly chopped my finger open.
While I was not intoxicated when I was actually carving the pumpkin, I certainly would be after the gallon of blood left my body and all will to survive escaped me.
I attempted to carve a rendering of Hannibal Lector, but failed. Never the less, what I ended up with was a nice, freakish face to glare about the poor children in search of free candy.
In my neighborhood, the children are in college and will likely destroy this thing before anyone sees it. I believe I will relocate it to my parents' house where it is more likely to survive.
I was kind of thinking I should carve "It rubs the lotion on its skin" on the other side and leave a bowl of travel sized hand lotion in place of candy... still thinking of doing it.
Anyhow, has anyone else carved a pumpkin recently?
