I just got back from a business trip to Eastern Europe and I still haven't completely defrosted. Here at home it's 80 degrees, that's why I live here.

This time of year, the residents of Florida, Southern California and other sun-kissed areas are sitting around on their patios sipping a cold one, barbecuing and wondering why anyone would live in the frozen North. People who live in the frozen North are probably sitting in front of a roaring fire, sipping a toddy while a moose steak (or whatever those people eat) bakes in the oven and wondering how anyone could live without the "Four Seasons". I mean, come on! How can you celebrate Christmas without snow? I'll tell you how, here in Southern California we usually barbecue a tofu turkey and go for a swim.

Here's a clue people; If no one vacations where you live, it's probably not a nice place to live.

The earliest signs of mankind have been found in temperate climates, and these people had brains the size of walnuts. I have lived in Northern California, Scotland, Georgia, outhern California. Scotland is uninhabitable although I still swear the coldest winter I ever spent was in Northern California. Most of my family still lives there, I have no idea why. My oldest daughter and her husband live in Washington State, poor kids. These "Frozen North" dwellers always say, "It's so beautiful in the Summer." If you find yourself saying this you probably live in a crappy place.

San Diego California probably has the best weather anywhere in the world. Seldom under 60 degrees, seldom over 80 you don't need an airconditioner or a heater. Now if we could just get rid of all those people it would be paradise.

Wherever you live you'll probably find there are either earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, freezing winters, searing summers, Rosie O'Donnell or some sort of disaster. Where I live, in the Southern California desert in a small resort town of 3000 people, half of them retired and the other half illegal aliens, it's hot as Hell for 3 months, but I just sit in the pool with a cold one thanking the Gods I don't have to shovel snow. How's the weather where you live?
