Pasadena's California Cactus Center
I've always loved the Pasadena area. I don't know why but I've always felt a kind of deja-vu/old flannel shirt familiarity with the place. Good times just happen naturally up here in the shadow of the San Gabriels. Like driving down Rosemead 10 years ago and Mrs. Sepulveda suddenly grabbing my arm and saying "Stop! I mean make a u-turn, go back!"
We've been going back to California Cactus Center ever since. The place just chills me right out. Sometimes if I'm working in the area, I'll spend my lunch break roaming through the succulents and cacti. Takes the edge right off the crazy SoCal traffic. Ever notice you never hear of any mass shootings in plant nurseries?
