Not since the Radio City Rockettes and Fred and Ginger has there been so much campy and hilarious tap dancing as Hillary reading her prepared statement on Julian Assange and Wikileaks' release of secret cables. A fly on the wall of the state department must have heard the diplomatic equivalent of "O MY GOD HONEY! Jimmy told them what we REALLY SAID about them that night!?? NOW what on earth can we SAY to any of the Joneses....assuming we ever even SEE them again!?" If we try him on the espionage act, it doesn't really apply because he's not a soldier, and he's not a spy, he's not even a citizen, and he's not secretly releasing information to the enemy, he's publicly releasing it to the public, which brings up the public's right to know vs. the government's right to lie, and probe into OUR secret lives, and he's releasing that information to news outlets that have to be responsible for their own editing. And it's not really about him, it's about a whole decentralized group of infoanarchists. But we GOT one of them we can use for a fall guy except if we try him we might have to say why and how he endangered our ops and soldiers and diplomatic relationships because let's see now, how do we talk about him endangering the lives of soldiers without getting into the lies we told about the reasons they're over there in harm's way in the first place? No, somehow we have to steer the conversation AWAY from the content of the releases while condemning the releases WITHOUT really saying WHY we're condemning the releases. This is a matter that has to be approached very Fred and Gingerly lest it come out that the premise of the Afghan war is just as bogus as the one for the Iraq war and all the fabrications that are used to prosecute that premise might start unraveling like confessions of detainees under extreme rendition. We can't talk too much about him endangering world stability and relationships (lies) between countries without getting into the millions we paid to small countries such as the island chain of Pelau to "NEUTRALIZE" them, that is SHUT THE FUK UP! at Kyoto about the fact they're losing their land to rising ocean levels....and we don't want ANY comparisons between the number of people WE'RE killing because we don't really ever want to talk about how dangerous global warming is and how the big money is not going to allow a real national conversation about cascade effects of climate change SOOOO we'll just condemn the releases in very general terms and...tip toe THRU the TOO lips, tip toe THRU the tappety tappety tappety tap tap tap tap....
How convenient that we have him stuck in a British jail on a Swedish warrant, that isn't a warrant based on some trumped up charges for consensual sex without a condom....once there's sex involved, then legal proceedings are just too inherently pompous and procedurally repressed to deal with it and therefore can go on forever....ah that's BEAUTIFUL! Just as long as they don't put him on the witness stand, because he's got a major mouth on him, so now just RELAX...RELAX...just sit back and continue generalizing while all the other responsible, dignified ambassadors in grown up drag for grown up countries pile up charges, such as evading arrest, which is also bogus but if you pile up enough of those legal fictions, why then just like traffic court, it can amount to a life sentence...
and nobody ever the wiser.
Which hearkens us back to this tough nut I've been chewing on ever since it came out as the last line of Woody Allen's "Manhattan",
"Everybody gets corrupted. You gotta have faith in people."
Just as I was coming around to believing that most of our screwups are based on something like a small boy's notion of doing good and can be politically rationalized sorta like the song and dance routines we're hauling out of the national and international closet now, just as I was placidly sinking into the rising waters of the general proposition permeating and permutating the halls of Congress that you can play political chess with mother nature, I ran across another condom er...I mean conundrum by another sit down comedian named Sigmund Freud, a little sidebar in his journal that says everything that gets past the dream censor is a political decision, which, if true, makes most of our egos (except for those of us who are perfect) into fictions and makes most of our social, and not to mention our romantic, lives into extra long B movies.
People like Woody are always making up "gottas", and it doesn't take much more than just saying a "gotta" to make it seem like you "gotta" believe it. But I'm not so sure, anymore, that we "gotta have faith in people". (Somebody just show me the evidence...PLEASE.) Maybe a slightly more believable "gotta" might be we gotta have faith in the nature that created people. Nature has created lots of forms of intelligence, and is obviously capable of creating even more. Human intelligence may be just a compact mirror created by the universe so it could take a quickie look at itself, or just one of those forms of so called intelligence that was created for cosmic and comic relief, like the black box where you put a coin in it and a hand rises up and turns a switch that turns itself off. Speaking of mirrors isn't it interesting the panic that ensues when the public can now hold the mirror up to the government that's watching the public? So.....
YO! S'UP big BRO!?
RIGHT back 'atcha!
What!? Sex Without A Condom!??!

On Democracy Now, Amy Goodman had two victim’s rights advocates trying to try Assange out of court using hearsay, gossip, innuendo and hysterical adhominem arguments. Neither of them represented themselves, victims or feminists in any way that wasn’t just totally embarrassing. It was a her second party “he said, she said” vs. another woman’s second party “he said, she said” that turned into a catfight. How can you even have a trial on that basis? D.N. looked ridiculous for letting these two idiots run on so long and not moderating and keeping the arguments at least inside the rules of debate. Amy should have stepped in there because any MAN who tried would be immediately called a chauvinist and a misogynist (but aren’t those awfully big words for a GIRL to be using?) But an additional complication is you can’t have a fair trial unless you separate the Wikileaks so called “case” (whatever the hell you want to call it since no formal charges have been brought yet) from the alleged rape (or whatever the hell you want to call THAT) and you can’t try either one fairly without considering the State’s (many States’) motives for bringing either so called case to trial. And where on earth could you find a neutral venue? The dilemma is DELICIOUS! and points to a fatal flaw in human reasoning. If I was a judge, saddled with this responsibility, I’d throw up my hands and say, “Human beings are, after all just (self destructive, stupid, herd) animals with personal, sexual and national egos that are WAY too big for their brains and their own good. There are some problems for which state law and international law have no remedy. I’m dismissing both cases with prejudice for lack of standing, lack of evidence, and lack of proper venue. Next time try to bring the court something it can work with. Because THIS problem because it deals simultaneously with sexual and nationalistic illusions is INEFFABLE….which, according to Webster, means….WE CAN’T TALK ABOUT IT!!!! OKAYYYY????!!!!”
