PENGUIN
At the risk of turning Brink into a travelogue and since these creatures have become so popular in our culture today I am posting some more pictures from Argentina. These were taken on Isla de Pinguinas in the Beagle Channel which is one step away from the Antarctic. We met a researcher who invited us to go out to the island and walk among the penguins. In the waters offshore it is not uncommon to see killer whales and dolphins. As we walked through the tall grass I noticed an few small skeletons and closer to the beach one or two lifeless penguin bodies. The researcher told me that a leopard seal had been terrorizing the community recently. However the overall feeling there was exhililerating and life affirming. The good news is that much of the talent there remains unrepresented.

and it was only a matter of time before they realized that they didn't need us to fulfill their hot-dog needs. It was only a matter of time before they were bound to figure it out. I can see it all now, the penguins marching in formation with little masks on (to disguise their penguin-identity) laying siege to various rendering plants, scooping up the snouts and what-nots in a very hurried fashion. Then passing off "the package" to their meat-grinder operating counterparts in a "secured" warehouse down by the docks.
Actually, its all in the documentary Attack of the Penguins. Its actually a terribly destructive habit the penguins have acquired for hot-dogs. Much like spoiled milk to the aliens or fast-food to humans. Hot-dogs are an epidemic that will render their populous lazy and apathetic, they'll probably all end up watching QVC all day.
