Brink was in LA and was invited to an LA Punk reunion party at the Echoplex on the Sunset strip. KK Barret of Screamers (R.I.P. Tomata Du Plenty) fame took us there and bought us beers in between signing autographs.
KK is the best. He is grounded and sane amidst the chaos. He is an excellent host. Anyway there were about 30 bands playing over the course of the day. Most notable were the Controllers, the Eyes and the Skulls.

No but I did meet Billy Zoom from X. Actually they were all there to celebrate a cool and comprehensive book on the beginnings of the LA PUNK movement called LIVE AT THE MASQUE.

Nice! I have not yet seen "What We Do is Secret" Do you know if it is any good? I imagine it to be overly Hollywood with Darby's character, but perhaps not. I saw a preview. Rock and Roll Suicide by David Bowie was playing. It looked pretty good.

I will make sure to not waste my time with it. I heard of a documentary about Joy Division called "Control" According to the reviews I read, the surviving members were actually happy with how it turned out. Too bad it wasn't the case in this instance.
