THE PROPHET
of Chuck and Mission Express at Ssssskipper's Sssssmokehoussssshe Tampa FL. A great party place, but all those damn hippies can get a bit on my nerves sometimes. Chuck's shows are always so much fun - you really can't go wrong with great music and a band whose leader is one of the wackiest front men in rock n roll, encouraging the band and the audience to enjoy themselves. Enough of the bands whose singers take themselves all too seriously. Go see Chuck, when you get a chance, and you just might have something resembling a religious experience. At least, it's the kind of religious vision I can relate to, but I'm kinda heathen that way.

Great pictures. Looks like a good time. I think it's a religious vision to which many, many people will relate. After all, isn't that the point?

that is Ronny Reno. He came out toward the end of the show and did "From a Buick 6" with Chuck. Had to look up that title - I consider myself a bit of a Dylanhead, but all I could remember is that it was the "put a blanket on my bed" song

Apparently they are still waiting on the background check on Jimmy the Peach. At least, they're letting him ride in the van now, and stay in the same motel. No more taking the Greyhound from show to show and staying at the YMCA for the Peach, I guess

thanks firstlady - both nights were lots of fun - even an Iggy cover on Saturday. Having problems posting the video I shot on Saturday, but I'll keep trying. I have had more transcendent experiences at rock shows than I ever did have, or hope to have, in church - and I think I'll keep it that way.

haven't been to the Coltrane church in SFO yet, so maybe I should reserve judgment until then

CORRECTION: That's not Ronnie Reno, that's the Brink's own Ronnie Elliot. He's been rocking Tampa since before most of us were born and he'll be rocking after he buries us, I'm sure.
And what's with the photo of me in the upper left corner? That look on my face, like I just farted or something...

Didn't you just fart? I was trying to discreetly ignore it with the ol' "slide the CD back into its plastic wrapper" bit, and pointing at Rhonda won't help push the blame to her, either
