what is the deal with those crazy purple flowers? when i see those around they make me kind of nervous......somewhat alien...

I know! Like they'll spit poison at you if you get too close! I think they are passion flowers, and completely of this earth :)

passion vines are pretty cool. i had a lattice covered patio that was taken over by the blue variety back in riverside, ca.. it even produced fruit during the second season. bees love it too.if theres any insomniacs out there- you can make a tea from the flowers and leaves that i swear will put you to sleep in a half hour. no weird grogginess the next day either...
