ZOG'S TONES
A pleasanlty warm and breezy afternoon in April found me enjoying the dulcet tones of fellow Brinkster Zogtone in Borrego Springs, Ca.
A sundry crowd of Borregans chatted, danced and milled about in the open-air plaza outside of the Tumbleweed desert decor store enjoying the music while eating hot dogs--and walking them.
Zog's rendition of The Byrd's "You Ain't Goin' Nowhere" among others, was sublime. Oh yeah, he's the troubadour in the Hawaiian shirt.
Connie George, Alan Tulving and a guy named 'Bob' made up a folksy trio.
The chap playing killer fiddle was none other than Haddon Salt of H. Salt Esq. Fish & Chips restaurant fame! (That's right folks, So. Cal's answer to authentic English fish & chips--YUM.)
I also had the pleasure of meeting another member of the Borrego Brain Trust (and Brinkster) desertdenizen.
A fine day and a fine way to listen to good music and take pictures--and drink margaritas! You're right Zog, it WAS more exciting than watching paint dry!
The palms swaying in the sunset had sweet background music that evening...I look forward to another...Thanks Bill, et al!
