South African Boer Goats are the largest species of goat. They are bred for meat. Goat is the number one consumed meat in the world. We breed goats for show and breeding stock on our Southern California ranch, these registered goats are too expensive (and too cute) to eat. Boers have brought over $50,000 at auction. The two bucks in the photos are herd sires and weight over 300 pounds each. The wacky doe in the hat is a spoiled bottle baby named Spot. They make great pets and can be very funny. Come to think of it that also describes me.
