FEEDS ON WEEDS
It was the rain that woke me up.
Why the rain means anything, I can't say for sure. Maybe it's the life-giving qualities, or cleansing properties, or the sorrow in the clouds.
I'm human now. In my former life I was a rabbit - hence the moniker. It was ok being a rabbit. We didn't have any sexual hang-ups and almost always found something to munch on. I used to like the marijuana patches. If the grower got pissy about me munching a few leaves I'd chew through a stalk and watch him from the bushes when he found it. Suddenly Mr. Mellow would become Corporate Bob, grousing about "fucking rabbits" and lost revenue. Once, he put a poison carrot out there to kill my ass. It kind of pissed me off, so I gnawed a couple of stalks. Then he bought a shotgun and watched for me. But I was watching him. Eventually he had to take a shit and laid the gun down while he looked for big leaves to wipe his ass. As rabbits do, I raced over and took a shit on the action of his shotgun. That angered him so much that he smoked a bit, then gave up. I don't know about humans. They seem kind of stupid wiping their asses. I'm not sure, but I think they're the only species that does so. I mean, dogs lick each others asses, but that's different.
Anyway, I'm wondering why I bothered to write anything. Oh yeah, Evanid's rain woke me up and I couldn't go back to sleep. He's mad you know. But many people are mad. I've watched humanity and seen them buy the bullshit people will sell them. As the old growth timber of the NW was logged, then trucked and trained to build California, workers, among others, bought the line that it would last forever. It didn't.
Used to be that environmentalists were the plague of humanity. They sounded warnings people didn't want to heed. Guess we have to now. A dear friend commented on the current situation many years ago. He said that when the natural resources are gone the profiteers will turn their attention to us. He saw it coming before it landed.
The earth does not belong to a few. It belongs to every living thing (including rabbits). The people we took this land from understood something about the significance of community and harmony. They were also human, which is akin to being alive (we rabbits get pissed off and eat our kids sometimes). So nothing's perfect. But we can do better, if we try hard enough.
Maybe it wasn't the rain that woke me up. Maybe it was my conscience. The birds are waking up from wherever it is they sleep. Think I'll go back to dreaming

Too late for you
There must be a multitude of tormented characters there. Hopefully, they'll vanish soon
It was the Ghosts of Khaosan that woke you up - a tsunami, earthquakes, storms, and prayers that went unanswered .
But morning is here
